Launch LA
Its takes innovation and differentiation to stand out from the abundance of new brands and products introduced to the market. When SDSI heard about the Inaugural Launch LA Trade Show, founded with the premise of showcasing new innovative emerging brands, we headed up to Santa Monica Airport's Barker Hangar to see what was in store. The People’s Movement’s Spring/Summer ‘13 line stood out from the crowd with their unique displays made from upcycled cardboard by Nomadic Industries. And Hoodie Buddie’s life size teepee was an eye catcher rivaling that of SDSI Executive Chairman Bill Walton’s. Read Show reviews HERE.

Outdoor Retailer
At Outdoor Retailers last week in Salt Lake City, Utah a number of SDSI members and partners were actively doing business. With over 1200 vendors, 10’s of thousands descended on Salt Lake to check out the Spring/Summer ‘13 offerings. SDSI had the opportunity to see new products in an array of new colors from all the local So. Cal brands. Congratulations to SDSI members Boardworks, X-1 (formerly H20 Audio) and LifeProof all which had a steady stream of traffic throughout the show. And thank you to Dave Nash and Pete Censoplano of Sun Diego Boardshops for having SDSI along.
Of particular note, was the
Design Center and all the new fabric technologies as well as major brands launching
new and innovative items. From fabrics that wick away moisture using
coconut fibers, to the new Omni Freeze Zero technology from Columbia that cools
you with expanding “donuts” when the material gets wet, there are some great
new innovations on the horizon. Read Show recap and view photos at TransWorld
