SDSI is entirely self-supporting through membership dues, event fees, and corporate underwriting for specific programs and events. Membership enables SDSI to provide high-quality programs to entrepreneurs and early stage companies, while simultaneously providing opportunities for early stage access to capital providers and service providers. Membership allows SDSI to act as the facilitator for high quality networking and collaboration for the action, lifestyle, and traditional sports industries through networking & funding events and educational programs. The resulting membership community has and will continue to accelerate the sports industry cluster while increasing company formation thus strengthening Southern California’s economy as a whole. SDSI carries out its mission through the generous support of members, private donors, and volunteers. The time, effort, and active, hands-on participation by our volunteers brings invaluable expertise to start-up companies.

Who can become an SDSI Member?

• Action sport companies, lifestyle companies, traditional sport companies and sport related consumer product companies
• Business service providers to the sports industries (legal, accounting, banking, real estate, insurance, etc.)
• Capital providers (Venture Capital Firms, Angel Investors, Angel groups, etc.)
• Individuals interested in the business of sports
• Mentors
• If you have anything to do with “Sport” you are welcome to join!

General Membership Structure
SDSI is a 501-C6 non-profit organization established to provide education, networking and public policy advocacy to contributing members. SDSI is a non-profit association supported through annual memberships, program sponsorships and event attendance fees. Contributions to SDSI from a corporate or private foundation may be tax deductible; please discuss with your accountant.
